RINJ 10th Annual End Child Sex Trade blitz. Don’t buy a kid

The RINJ Foundation’s 10th Annual Campaign Against Child Sex Slavery was launched today in Toronto, Canada and in Kiev, Ukraine. The campaign will run until 30 June 2023. Several campaign strategy updates are expected in that time as the human slave trade shifts regions with the change in levels and regions of food deprivation causing increased vulnerabilities among women and children.

 

The USA Department of Justice offers a helpful definition of what RINJ Women are talking about.

“Child sex trafficking refers to the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, or soliciting of a minor for the purpose of a commercial sex act. Offenders of this crime who are commonly referred to as traffickers, or pimps, target vulnerable children and gain control over them using a variety of manipulative methods.” Citing US DoJ

RINJ 10th End Child Sex-trade campaign has big fight with Meta

The RINJ Foundation women, with shelters and safe houses around the world are based in Canada and have been fighting for the safety of women and children around the world sine the early 2000s.

According to Katie Alsop of  The RINJ Foundation in Europe, “Business people including information technology (IT) experts need to stop ignoring things they see and know are sketchy”.

“That means for example,” she adds, “people who sell server space or web site platforms and who see pornography involving children, must call police. How can you be a descent human being if you sell a domain name called something like BuyaKidForSexFromMe.com?”

“All adults have a responsibility for protecting children.”

“If you are a person who feels the need to sexually be with a child, you have a serious illness and you must not minimize your affliction. You must seek medical care. Your doctor is compelled to protect your privacy and will refer you to a mental health specialist. Don’t put this off because if I catch you with a kid I am going to put you behind bars and there are no prisons where criminals are tolerant of child molesters. None”, Ms. Alsop adds.

Another Child is in Trouble in Ukraine, “Every Five Minutes”

Another kid in trouble. Somewhere behind her is a male pimp or kidnapper who has her terrified so much that this child is doing what he wants her to do.

Human trafficking has long been a problem in Ukraine. Now the problem is much worse. Ukraine could be the number ine source for human slaves were it not for the expanding levels of food deprivation and hunger in south Asia where parents are willing to let their children go if that means they will eat and where women are more vulnerable to sex-for-sale kidnaps.

Every Second Ukrainian Risks Getting Exploited Amidst Devastating Impact of the War

According to the  International Organization for Migration, “Over 32 million people, or 85 per cent of the entire population of Ukraine, are estimated to be affected by the full-scale war that rages in the country for eight months.  Having faced the direct or indirect impact of hostilities, displacement, and the weakened economy, the population became more exposed to human trafficking and other forms of exploitation. Every second Ukrainian (59%) risks being exploited, being willing to accept at least one type of risky job offers abroad or in Ukraine, revealed a recent survey, commissioned by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Almost a half of this risk group would accept a risky job offer abroad: to work without official employment and even in locked premises, being unable to leave a workplace freely; to irregularly cross the border; to give their passports, phones and personal belongings to an employer.”

In Ukraine, ‘spotters’ mark doors where a vulnerable woman or girl live. Than the armed men do a home invasion and kidnap.

More and more, RINJ humanitarian workers are noticing these nylon ties on doors where girls and women reside in Ukraine. This deed is done by what we call a “spotter” who gets paid for spotting homes where vulnerable women and girls live. At some time later, armed men go to an area that has been “spotted” and kidnap the girls/women while doing a home invasion. If you see this happening, please remove the nylon tie.

“The survey also showed that due to the war over 20 million people lost income, over 16 million were left without jobs, more than 5 million had their homes destroyed, and over a million families faced food insecurity. Limited possibilities to meet basic needs, uncertainty, family separations, and loss of loved ones also caused a severe impact on people’s well-being as more than 15 million families reported experiencing mental health issues.”

It would seem time to end this war that risks millions of civilians, especially children.
