Barbie Inocencio is a 16-year-old Grade 10 student who was reported missing on Monday. She had not returned home from school.
She was found yesterday, in an irrigation canal in Barangay Punong Grande.
Her hands were tied and her body wrapped in a sack. Her deceased body was found by residents floating in an irrigation canal.
Monique Deslauriers, a spokesperson for The RINJ Foundation, a global civil society women’s group said today that “the case has some similarities to other cases RINJ is examining and because the Philippines has not responded to tens of thousands of other wrongful deaths, the camel must come to a halt with this last straw“.
