“There are many paths to a nuclear-weapons-free world. I appeal to all states to intensify their efforts to contribute to the shared vision in their own ways.”
Updated: January 17, 2018 – Pyongyang — North and South Korea seem to have reached an incipient detente when on January 9, a successful meeting at Panmunjom resulted in the DPRK agreeing to participate in this year’s South Korean-hosted Olympics; and they also agreed to continue diplomatic and military talks, the first of which began today.
This has not calmed the United States’ belligerence as B-52 bombers continue pouring into the USAF air base on Guam for apparently long term relocation.
Let’s get one thing straight, the only threat of nuclear war in the past year has come from the US White House. “Total destruction”, “RocketMan” and other terms are the shape of US diplomacy and have resulted in tamer reactions from Pyongyang.
While babies and their mothers die in North Korea from starvation; as Korean Peninsula diplomats share kind words and hope for the future; and as America builds up its nuclear weaponry in the East Asian Pacific, Canada is hosting a sanctions-enforcement DPRK-bullying conference with representatives from less than two dozen nations including the United States and Britain.
Canada had a chance to continue where it left off in 1953 to pursue peace between the warring parties but chose instead to jump back in and flog the people of the north.
Twenty five million ordinary lives are at stake. Canada, our home and native land, ignores the opportunity for nuclear disarmament talks and is now marching like a collective buffoon behind Donald Trump in the quest for nuclear war.
Lester B. Pearson (Alfred Nobel’s Peace Prize,1957) and Pierre Elliot Trudeau must be rolling over in their graves in enormous discomfort and frustration. That is especially true when American spokesperson describe the meeting in Vancouver as American-led.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and all its shared-border neighbours are conspicuously absent. Obviously this is not a conference for finding peace.

Helped Kill Millions of Korean Civilians. Guilty Conscience?
What is more conspicuous about this group of nations to the educated eye is that they are the ones who backed South Korea against the DPRK in 1950 and who also helped with the slaughter of millions of North Korean civilians by 1953.
These are the countries that brought you a civilian slaughter ten times worse than the civilian massacre in Nagasaki and Hiroshima combined. This caballing group of connivers have added to their intrigue by declaring they don’t want you to know who is attending. They indeed should be ashamed. Shame on Canada.
‘Cabal of Killers’ Commit Unspeakable War Crimes in ’50s
During the three-year Korean War, which both sides accuse the other of starting, the U.S. carpet bombed 635 kilotons of explosives on North Korea civilians, including 32,557 tons of napalm, an incendiary gel that can clear farms and forested areas and cause devastating burns to human skin. This compares to only 503,000 tons of bombs dropped by America during the entire Pacific Theater of World War Two, according to a 2009 study by the Asia-Pacific Journal.
Yes, of course these sneaky plotters don’t want their victim to have nuclear weapons. They are like rapists who don’t want women to have lawyers, courts, or any weapons for that matter. But there is no day of reckoning. North Korea has said it wants nuclear weapons because it is afraid of being annihilated. They say that while looking at instructive examples of US interventions like the mess in Libya, Iraq, Syria and so on… any place the US decided to militarily ‘fix things’.
Why worry about North Korea getting rid of its nuclear weapons when nobody else intends to do that? If there is going to be denuclearization of arsenals, it must be universal, or what’s the point?
The heart-breaking picture the Pope is holding is one he says he came across and it broke his heart. It’s a boy carrying the dead body of his toddler brother who was killed in a nuclear blast in Japan in 1945. Pope Francis, like the RINJ Foundation Women, is also urging global nuclear disarmament.
A leaked draft obtained by Newsweek Magazine of the Nuclear Posture Review 2018 authored by the United States Department of Defense indicated that the U.S. is set to loosen the rules around developing, testing and using nuclear weapons.
The Vatican is one of 122 members of the U.N. General Assembly who have agreed to a draft treaty on the prohibition of nuclear weapons. Notably, none of the nine countries known to possess the world’s 15,000 nuclear warheads (the U.S., the U.K., Russia, Israel, France, Pakistan, India, China and North Korea) participated in the process or adopted the convention.
DPRK Seeks to Prevent a Repeat of ’50s Slaughter
In a 1984 interview, US Air Force Gen. Curtis LeMay, head of the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War, claimed U.S. bombs “killed off 20 percent of the population” and “targeted everything that moved in North Korea.”
North Korea is not planning retaliation. It is planning its survival. People here are terrified.
Instead of bombing irrigation dams on the Yalu River to destroy the North Korean rice crop, the group meeting in Vancouver want to destroy anyone and anything that is bypassing sanctions and trying to get food, medicine and oil to the DPRK people. They may tell you a different story in their media releases but that is what is happening to North Korea. Thousands are dead already from starvation.
According to historian and author Bruce Cumings, most Americans are completely unaware that the USA destroyed more cities in the DPRK than in Japan or Germany combined during World War II. Every North Korean knows about this, but it has been dropped from US history.
As a Civil Society NGO The RINJ Foundation’s women urge all nations to stop killing North Koreans.
