Hamas or Israel it matters not, both are mass murderers.
Here is the story of a savage massacre at Ahli Arab National Hospital where several of our medical practitioners have been rushed to do their miracles of surgery with limited medical supplies.
Nurse Practitioner Ai’sha whom Israelis have come close to killing many times in our East Jerusalem operations, has been circulating as part of a surgical team in south Gaza. Her specialty is obstetrics (OB/GYN). Delivering babies is often a matter of surgery in war zones. In many parts of the world, only a woman is allowed to do this work by the patients and the patients’ families. Ai’sha speaks Arabic, Hebrew, English and a smattering of French.
Back in school days I would say ‘Ai’sha is the smartest kid on the block’. Sadly, as some of us classmates approach 40, none of us are kids any longer. Working in war zones, we have become wise old women, I fear. But for me, however, Ai’sha is tops.
I barely had a few satphone minutes with Ai’sha at Ahli Arab National Hospital. She was sitting on the hospital floor holding a mother and baby in her arms waiting for a bed to come available. As always, Ai’sha was fighting against her patients going into shock. Shock kills. There wasn’t much medicine or equipment available so she was using what she knows works best, love and care.
Ai’sha heard the blasts from south Gaza. Minutes later, Behar Abbasi who is the team lead in their surgical unit said, “Get ready with some supplies and head to the van. We must go to the city.”
On the route they had scanty information but upon arrival the carnage they saw was shocking. They were left to walk through the courtyards as the driver took the van back along the same route they later learned.

Ai’sha and Behar got to work, saving infants. Some pregnant moms who had travelled from north Gaza and taken shelter at the courtyard here, did not make it through the night. Their babies are alive. Ai’sha and Behar told me that if it is the last thing they do in their lives, they will find those children as adolescents or younger and tell them what beautiful mothers they had with the courage of angels Gabriel and Michael to have traveled through hell on Earth to meet the people finally who would deliver them into this world. The Episcopal Diocese has promised to find foster homes for the children delivered in emergency surgery that night. Ai’sha and Behar continue their work elsewhere after their driver found them and took them to new emergencies as we all go about our work in awe of our amazing sisters.

Video: Medical workers and practitioners at the hospital are horrified as the dust settles from the massive bomb like the one that brought down the al Jazeera building. “I will never understand how some Christians tried to justify the Israeli Occupiers bombing an ‘English/British’ Christian [Baptist] hospital resulting in over 600 civilian casualties in Gaza.”
The RINJ Foundation was given video from the actual attack on the night of 17 October 2023, taken from a building nearby the al Ahli Arab National (Baptist) Hospital run by the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, which was slammed with the same type of weapon the Israelis used to destroy buildings across the Gaza strip. Thousands of Palestinians from the north Gaza area had sought shelter amid the Israeli Gaza Genocide campaign. Many are buried in the rubble.
The RINJ Foundation gave the video and others to Israeli security analyst Simon Baldock and asked him to find consultants from within the IDF to determine where the weapon came from. At around the same time other buildings had been hit including a UN school building. According to IDF ordnance specialists, the weapon that hit the al Ahli Arab National hospital was fired by an Israeli aircraft at nearly the same time the other two buildings were hit within a few minutes. The weapon displays the same characteristics at impact as did all the building buster bombs going back even to the media building knocked down years ago.
“We previously issued a warning to evacuate Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital and five other hospitals,” said an Israeli spokesperson at the time of the catastrophe.

“We call for unimpeded access, safe passage for desperately needed humanitarian supplies to Gaza,” said Abeer Etefa, UN World Food Programme (WFP) Regional Communications Lead for the Middle East and North Africa. Some 300 tonnes of food “are at the Egyptian border in Rafah”, said Ms. Etefa. “That’s enough to feed around a quarter million people for one week.”
According to OHCHR, “a large number” of women and children are among the dead in Gaza, as well as at least 11 Palestinian journalists, 28 medical staff and 14 UN colleagues.

Human Rights Watch verified videos taken in Lebanon and Gaza on 10 October 2023 and 11 October 2023, respectively, showing multiple airbursts of artillery-fired white phosphorus over the Gaza City port and two rural locations along the Israel-Lebanon border, and interviewed two people who described an attack in Gaza.
By blocking all food, water, medical supplies, fuel, humanitarian aid, avenues of exit, the accused parties deliberately inflict on the Palestinian group conditions of life calculated to bring about the group’s physical destruction in whole or in part.

Article II
