Cyber Bullies Take Note
Be
advised you do not have permission to use
volunteer's identities when you write articles; you my not make
bully attack pages about or bullying any private, living persons
just because you disagree with an organization they associate to;
and you may not in any manner bring harm to any person doing
volunteer work for The RINJ Foundation.
By avoiding your path of cyber bullying and harassing individual
persons you won't get blamed for untoward things that happen to
those persons you target. That can happen when you take it upon
yourself to bully individuals online.
You run the risk that some ill-meaning criminal coming out of the
woodwork unexpectedly, who with a reasonably expectation of your
implied endorsement, will act out in a manner that is especially
dangerous even going past your effort at destroying someone's
reputation and their life and inflicting physical harm. This is
becoming an occurrence for which numerous alerts have been issued.
Play A Positive Roll
If you want to play a positive role in ending rape wordwide, you
are better working from the inside. Storming the Bastille walls (in
all of history) has never worked. Just being attackers picking one
by one on individual volunteers and harassing them continually
doesn’t ingratiate your selves with anyone but places you in
jeopardy of civil and criminal prosecution. We have numerous direct
complaints from people who have been surreptitiously contacted and
bullied despite warnings to cease and desist. To those who say they
are banned from RINJ forums erroneously for a 'cooling off' period,
RINJ offers a remedy.
Volunteers Are Real People Guaranteed Certain
Safety
People volunteer to do this work because they believe it is the
right thing to do with their spare time. It is not an obsession nor
is it a pastime. It’s a volunteered chore that one does to enhance
the community. But it isn’t worth the harm that some people
are willing to cause private individuals, whoever you bullies really
are.
Well-meaning persons are invited
to take down all your destructive bullying you have been publishing
and join us and share your views in the normal and proper way and
then continue to do useful and fulfilling volunteer work.
In the alternative, cyber bullies, cease and desist or be subject to
all legal and extra-legal remedies available to the victimized
parties. You are not anonymous. You think using screen names gives
you anonymity, but the 'law' can find you these days.
Looking at the way ahead.
Rape hasn’t ended so the
mission isn’t complete by a long shot. If you and any colleague(s)
seriously wishes to do work of a positive nature then join us and
share your views civilly and be a part of creating a forward-looking
operating model for RINJ that is inclusive. Anyone who wants to do
that may approach RINJ volunteers by email at
RINJ Email and she will
arrange for any blocks to be removed and introductions that might be
needed.
The RINJ Foundation has become more diverse than in the
past after flying many concepts up the flagpole. Beyond the
“Facebook Rape Page Campaign” RINJ volunteers have decided to go
forward in multiple areas. RINJ has conducted a number of focus
groups and has published numerous teasers and sampled results.
For one, there is a consensus that lobbying for
legislative change in several countries and having the UN initiate a
steering committee that could investigate and council member nations
on what Statutes have been effective among member states and reach
some international consensus so that in the matters of sexual
assault, “Justice” is no longer a “joke”! There are a number of
sophisticated methods to be arrived at and some steep hurdles to
overcome in order to encourage MOST NATIONS that they must fully and
diligently prosecute rapists. RINJ seeks higher penalties for
rapists and has a methodology for promoting the careers of judges
who adopt similar views. RINJ has adopted an ambitious model for
it’s way ahead and is open to change.
RINJ believes that it must ACTIVELY and
AGGRESSIVELY attack media that promotes rape jokes, misogyny, rape
drugs, child exploitation (rape culture in all) and I do mean
attack. Consider Marshall McLuhan’s warning about the media. He was
right. To a large extent the media governs society. While that is
unacceptable, we may need to focus on the most deplorable aspects
first. .
Why?... because the media was not
democratically elected to govern. In democracies we elect our
public-policy makers, not “shock-jocks” to set public policy. Media,
no matter if it is traditional or ‘new media’, that provides content
that advocates conduct that is criminal in nature and in many ways
contrary to community values is destructive and most be opposed
vigorously by the people. The publication or broadcast of messages
by popular media implying that it’s OK to sexually assault a person
is likely to lead to that crime happening. (The same is true of
people who online cyber bully a person in the hope that they can
drive many people to bring harm to that individual.)
In short, the way ahead has been under evaluation for some months
and some exciting prospects are emerging. People, you can be on the
outside of the walls behaving out of antipathy or you can join those
on the inside and through cooperation, bring about a good result
over time.
