The RINJ Foundation has vigorously rebuked the conduct of a family of British television commentators for their effort to gain publicity by ganging up on the teenaged rape survivor of British footballer Chedwyn Evans’ rape crime.
Evans was convicted in 2012 of a most heinous crime of rape. Using his sports celebrity and privileged existence of public influence as a lever he has attempted to convince the public that the victim was responsible for his crime.
Regardless, prisons are full of people who say they did not commit their crime and Evans like many other rapists The RINJ Foundation has encountered, is unrepentant for his crime.
Rapist Must Complete Sentence Before Being Offered As Role Model To Kids
There is some considerable debate as to whether this offender should be allowed to return to football before his time has been served. He is currently paroled out of prison but his sentence could be resumed for as a little as a misdemeanor (minor or summary) offence.
What kind of professional sports organization wants to offer unrepentant rapists as role models to youth sports enthusiasts?
This man is a convicted rapists who has not completed his prison sentence. The British system of crime and punishment is aimed at rehabilitation and that is why sentences tend to be light and offenders are ‘cascaded’ back into society under supervised conditions.
Of course this person must not be allowed back into professional publicly offered sports entertainment until he has completed his sentence. What kind of professional sports organization wants to offer unrepentant rapists as role models to youth sports enthusiasts?
Convicted RapistAs reported rape crime in Britain has soared by roughly one third in the past year, a tacky British TV entertainer British TV presenter Judy Finnigan, was branded ‘disgusting’ after her October 2014 defending of convicted rapist Ched Evans (25) on her “Loose Women” TV-show debut.
The public’s reaction was swift to condemn the sensationalist reality TV performer who said the crime wasn’t so bad because the rape survivor had not been badly beaten up.
Subsequently Richard Madeley, Finnigan’s husband and also a TV commentator revealed that his daughter Chloe had received a series of tweets on Twitter following these comments made by his wife (Judy Finnigan). He went on to support his wife’s assertion that violent beating rape’s didn’t matter so much.
The public reaction has not been calm.
Finnigan had implied that convicted rapist Ched Evans wasn’t such a bad offender because he hadn’t left his victim violently bashed up.Somebody should explain to her how traumatizing to rape survivors is this cavalier disregard for the rights, feelings and trauma of the survivor of Ched Evans rape crime.
Apparently certain persons have reacted to this attack on rapist Evan’s victim by tweeting to the effect “how would you like it if it were your daughter”?
Richard Madeley has warned in the media that “prosecution awaits these tweeters.
His daughter enthusiastically fed gas to the fire when she tweeted among other foolishness, While it may anger some that the term ‘non violent rape’ exists, unfortunately it does.”
Madeley tweeted: “Thanks to everyone who tweeted support for Judy’s intelligent, clear analysis 2day. Trolls who sent sick rape threats (referring to the ‘how would you like it if it were your daughter who Ched Evans raped)? Prosecution awaits you.”
Overall this effort at building publicity for sagging TV careers has revealed a family hell-bent on feeding the British rape culture.
Britain’s rape culture…Madeley and Finnigan have pushed this story as hard as they can to get press for their own careers; at the expense of rapist Ched Evans’ rape survivor; and at the expense of Ched Evans and apparently Madeley’s daughter has also shared in the backlash.
It isn’t hard to find supporters for rapists and antagonists for their victims in Britain. The country has a bad record on rape crime.
In Britain very few rapists are ever convicted.
Twitter trolls will do what twitter trolls do. The site needs to deal with these abusers. These two media people are milking this story and inflaming it as much as they can for publicity–it isn’t hard to find hooligans on social media. Meanwhile Madeley and Finnigan have pushed this story and continue to do this at the expense of Chedwyn Evans whom they claim to be defending by saying that he is not such a bad offender because there were no visible broken bones, lacerations or contusions on the rape survivor.
Britain’s Rape Culture Got Another Boost from Madeley and Finnigan
Britain’s rape culture…If as these people claim the judge in the matter made similar remarks then he is equally disreputable as Judge Jane Mowat who said most rapes are the fault of women, how they dress and how they drink.
Rape Crime Is A Serious Problem For Britain
Meanwhile among reported rapes in the U.K. there is a 29% increase in this crime over last year while other crime is down slightly. Roughly 23, 000 rapes took place and some 46,000 sex crimes of other types (http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29642455).
It is time to get these types of people off the airwaves and the same types of misdirected judges off the bench. Don’t Be Swayed By Bad Judges and Bad Law
Evans and another footballer, Clayton McDonald, were tried at the Crown Court at Caernarfon after being indicted of the rape of a 19-year-old woman at a hotel near Rhyl in May 2011. Evans was convicted on 20 April 2012 and was sentenced to five years imprisonment. He served only half that time.
Judge Merfyn Hughes QC stated in his sentencing remarks that: “The complainant was 19 years of age and was extremely intoxicated. CCTV footage shows, in my view, the extent of her intoxication when she stumbled into your friend. As the jury have found, she was in no condition to have sexual intercourse. When you arrived at the hotel, you must have realized that.
