Job brief

We are looking for a talented social media intern to create and maintain a strong online presence for our The RINJ Foundation. Your role is to implement online humanitarian communication strategies through our social media accounts.

If you have an interest in communicating the rights of women and children and the humanitarian services available to women and children, through online channels, we would like to engage you.

What does a social media coordinator do?

As a Social media coordinator, you will help develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more reach. Ultimately, you should be able to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader communication strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Create engaging text, image and video content
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new projects
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Coordinate with co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
  • Facilitate online conversations with members of the public and respond to queries
  • Report on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Oversee social media accounts’ layout
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions

  • Comprehension of multiple social media platforms
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively

Who does a Social Media Coordinator work with?

The Social Media Intern will be collaborating with operations managers, senior policy makers and field worker professionals coordinated by and channeled through the appointed supervisor. From the outset, training needs will be established by the supervisor and the best available assets will be made available via Zoom or other remote communication methods from the country where those managers are working. Currently the most active regions are Philippines, Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Ghana, and Yemen.
